Around this time of year, it can be difficult to save with the likes of the holidays, parties and everything else in between. But there’s certain hotspots in the UK where you can save and still enjoy good times. Think about Glasgow
Coming up to Christmas its festive but if you’re looking ahead it can also be a difficult time to save. Looking at locations in Britain where you can enjoy life but save while you’re doing that, then look at Glasgow. Known for being friendly, down to earth and cost effective, it’s a good place to call home. A shopping mecca you can grab a number of great deals while Buchanan St has an abundance of upmarket and branded stores.
The city is also known for being home to the SSE Hydro which attracts lots of acts each year. The likes of Beyonce and Justin Bieber stopped by in 2016 to sell out crowds and the tickets for these shows were fairly priced. A standing ticket cost around £40 which isn’t bad at all for catching a glimpse of your idol. If you’re into comedy, early next year Russell Howard is visiting and its worth buying early bird tickets as there’s a considerable difference in price by buying them early.
For a night out, Glasgow is quite well reasonably priced too. If you’re a student and on a budget enjoy £1 drinks during the week at lots great clubs while the weekend is more expensive it’s still a great deal cheaper than than the likes of London where you’re spending £10 per vodka mix.
The likes of Ashton Lane and the West End of the city are the places where you’ll find great beer and great times with a number of award winning bars to choose from. Glasgow might not be the first place you think of for value for money, but if you’re looking for that then this is the place to be.
